*1.Q- Who is Mr Tsungai Mwenengeni can you tell us more about yourself, when and where were you born?*

I'm Tsungai Mwanengeni 40 years of age and born in Glen Norah B on the 4th December 1973.




*2Q- Where did you attend your primary, secondary schooling and in which years?*

48 years of age*

I attended Ruvheneko primary school between the years 1982-1988 and secondary school in Glen Norah High 2 between the years 1989-1992

*3.Q- Tell us how was performance in athletics during your primary and secondary levels?*

I did the 1500m during my primary school years  and in secondary school I did 1500m,800m and the 5000m race.In secondary school I reached up to the national track and field competition but did not do so well.

*4.Q- Do you still remember teacher or coach who identified your talent in athletics and how it started in athletics*

I can't remember the teacher at my primary school but I surely do remember a teacher by the name of Mr Boro and my coach Mr Never Boka for Willville club. Those are the people who helped me identify my passion and talent

*5.Q- What inspires you to be an athlete?*

It was my passion to become and athlete as it was something I feel like I was born to do something that is in my roots. Therefore there is no specific things that made me want to become an athlete it is a passion I was born with.

*6.Q- Can you give us the names of your training partners and how did they contribute for you performance in sport?*

People who helped contributed were the late Fungai Kapanyota, Morgan Stole,Mr Ngaseke and Mr Mutsakani as their performance kept me motivated to keep training and work hard to achieve my goals which made me a better athlete

*7.Q- What motivated you to take running as part of your life?*

The thing that motivated me was my passion as I mentioned before. Running is something I love to do regarless it is part of my life so basically the things that kept me motivated is the love I have for this sport.

*8.Q- Name your first running club and how many clubs did you ran for during your days?*

My first club was Willville  Motor industry which I join in 1993.I ran for 3 clubs during those days.

*Please name other 2 clubs?*

Casalee and Turnal athletics club

*And your first running club and the currently you running for in S Africa?*

I'm currently running for RCS GUGUS and the first club in South Africa was Harmon athletics club.

*9.Q- Do you ever compete or won medals in any Zim National champs or representing 

Zimbabwe in any regional and international champs?*

Yes I have completed in the Zimbabwe national cross country in 1996 and won the race, later that year i presented Zimbabwe in World Cross country that took place in South Africa.

*Which year?*

1996

*10.Q- During your junior and senior levels, who were your rivals?*

Chimukoko, Ngaseke, Mutandiro, Shoko and Juwayo were my rivals.

*11.Q- At what age did you start professional running in your career as an athlete?*

I was 25 years of age

*12.Q- Do you ever had Coach or Manager in your career as an athlete?*

Yes

New balance

*14.Q- What was your best meals before and after the race?*

Sadza

*15.Q- What's your best times in the following distance from: 5000m 10km, 21km, 42km, 

56km and 89km comrades marathon?*

5000 meters 14mims, 10km 28mins, 21km 62mins and 42km 2hr 20

*16.Q- What is your best and worst race in your career as an athlete?*

Best race was Soweto marathon and worst race was City to City.

*What happened at City to City 50km Race?*

I was in the seconded position reaching the last 5km then stop the reason for this was because I was tired and ended up 13th postion

*17. Can you name your best road race of all time and why?*

1OKm in Germany in 2001

*18.Q- What are the challenges and setbacks do you over come  as athlete?*

I ran my time in the race

No sponsors for running gears.

*19.Q- How is your life during this lockdown without running races?*

It was difficult because as a person who is passionate about running   I felt like something was lacking and as it was one of the sources for my income things where a bit difficult to balance out financially.

*20.Q- How did you manage to keep focused and fit during this erra of  lockdown?*

I exercised daily at home

*21.Q- What do you think should be done to improve athletics in Zimbabwe?*

Support them with running equipment and basic resources to keep them motivated as it will give them faith

*22.Q- Your future plans in sport?*

To become a coach

*23.Q- Your words of encouragement and motivational to the upcoming athletes*

First thing is to be dissiplined because being dissiplined will also determine who u are as a person and how u will be towards what u want in life. Consistency is important make sure you always training, believe in yourself and never give up regardless to you circumstances.

*24.Q- What do you think about age cheating and drug use in sport?*

I think it's a sign of desperation as it is not reliable on your road to success. There is no need to take short cuts in life as it will have side effects using drugs or age cheating would just cut your career as an athlete short.

*25.Q- what are your last words to followers on this platform of Mr Pace Show ?*

Perseverence pays and you must never give up or let other people bring you down. You must also know who you are and who you wanna be in life

*26.Q- In brief tell us about your family and their support to your profession as sports person?*

My family is extremely supportive as they are also proud of what I do as it keeps them motivated to work hard in life in order to achieve there goals and always have faith
